US Hosting Accounts 

We are now able to offer hosting on servers located in the United States. As the costs involved in hosting on US servers are lower than for UK servers, we are able to offer the same hosting accounts at a lower price. Our US hosting plans come with a free .com domain name instead of a .co.uk domain, however this only applies if you pay annually with a minimum 3 month commitment. If you choose to pay monthly or quarterly, you must register your domain name yourself.

Although our hosting accounts are supplied with Joomla in mind, most 3rd party scripts will also work just fine on these accounts (but we only provide technical support for Joomla and Mambo).  We are currently offering a choice of 3 US hosting plans:

Which plan is right for me?

If you are planning a fairly small, brochure-style website, without too many photos or documents for download, then a Starter account should be sufficient for you.  If you are expecting a fairly large number of visitors (eg. 500 per day or more), or you have a number of photos or documents, you will probably need a Silver account.  Gold accounts should cater for most sites with a high amount of website traffic or a number of photos/documents.

If in doubt, start with a Starter - you can always upgrade later if you need to (or you can contact us for advice).

* Using an addon domain also uses up a subdomain, as a subdomain is required for an addon domain to work.

** Prices shown are applicable if account is paid annually. Monthly payments are available but the monthly cost is higher due to increased administration and card processing fees. If you pay annually and cancel your account before the end of the year for which you have paid, you will be given a pro-rata refund for each full month outstanding subject to a 3 month minimum contract, so annual payments give better value.

*** Registration and annual renewal of 1 .com domain is completely free for as long as you host your account with us as long as you pay annually.  If you already have a domain name, you can of course use that with your Netshine hosting account (see this faq).
